Corinthian Casuals 0 Hampton & Richmond Borough 0

This was the first of two matches in 24 hours giving Alan Devonshire a good opportunity to take a look at several triallists before taking on QPR on Saturday afternoon.

There was only one new face in the starting line up as Cole Penny, recently released by Watford, started alongside James Simmonds and Dave Tarpey in midfield.

With Matt Lovett on holiday, Joe Talbot got the chance to impress the Beavers boss and Lloyd Boatang also started again.

Hampton had by far the better of the first half without putting too much pressure on the Casuals goal.

Lawrence Yaku had the best chances with a header that he flashed wide and an attempted lob which went straight at the keeper.

The Beavers moved the ball quickly and with pace, with the midfield trio all looking comfortable on the ball.

The second half saw the usual raft of changes as Devonshire took the chance to take a first look at former Walton & Farnborough striker Carl Gibbs and Enfield Town defender Darrell Ellams.

There were also first run outs of the season for Billy Witham and Blake Goodman, who saw his rasping 20 yard strike well held by the opposition custodian.

The Beavers now move on to take on Chertsey Town on Thursday night before they arrive at Beveree for the first time this season to take on Neil Warnock’s Queens Park Rangers.

Hampton: Joe Talbot, Chris Robinson, Craig Tanner, Lloyd Boatang, Dean Inman, Dean Wells, Cole Penny, James Simmonds, Leon Yarnie, Lawrence Yaku, Dave Tarpey. Subs (all used): Ryan Adams, Darrell Ellams, David Stevens, Billy Witham, Nathan Collier, Blake Goodman, Shaun Lucien, Carl Gibbs, Charlie Moone.
